Upgrading a bathroom fan
The existing inline fan in this house was what the majority of new homes tend to have installed. The fan which sits in the loft and draws the air from the bathroom ceiling to the outside of house was just not powerful enough to get rid of the moisture generated by the power shower. This over the years caused big mould problems on the walls and ceiling of the bathroom.
Having checked the fan and vents were not blocked, we installed a larger fan which on paper was 4 times more powerful than the small one it replaced. This was a simple upgrade that corrected the cause of the mould problems and made a huge difference to the moisture that was extracted.
