The area once housed an aluminium framed greenhouse and the concrete based was still in place. As the area got a lot of the afternoon sun, the plan was to transform the area into a peaceful and relaxing seating/dining area to enjoy the summer months.
The work began by removing the old concrete base and flagstone path and the design was temporarily marked out with some old bricks so we could get a better idea of the shape and size. The entire area was levelled and then lined with rockery stones to bridge the height difference up to the garden and lawned area. The rest of the area was lined with treated timber log role to provide an edge and border for planting.
Once this was done we got to work on laying and compacting an MOT Type 1 sub base followed by a thick layer of decorative Cotswold stone. All that was left to do was for the owner to plant the border, sit back and enjoy.
